The Mysore “airport taxi” is a 193 km road trip
Start with the fact that shapes this entire page: Mysore has no commercial airport worth planning around. There is an airstrip, but the flights people actually want leave from Bengaluru.
So an airport booking here is not a twenty-minute transfer. It is the 193 km run to Kempegowda International — three to four hours, usually beginning in the dark, and priced as a one-way drop rather than a flat city fare.
That makes this the one city on this site where the airport journey is the most expensive thing on the page rather than the cheapest. In Coimbatore the airport is a ten-minute errand. Here it is most of a night.
Where the time actually goes
The road out of Mysore toward Bengaluru is the good part — fast, wide and straightforward. The last stretch is what decides your morning.
Skirting Bengaluru and getting north to the airport is the unpredictable section, and it does not behave the same at 3am as it does at 7am. Our drivers plan the departure from the Bengaluru end backwards, not from the total distance. That is the difference between arriving with time to spare and arriving at a closing gate.

During Dasara in September and October, everything above needs more slack. The city fills, road closures around the procession routes change the exits, and getting out of Mysore itself takes far longer than usual. Book well ahead and leave earlier than you think you need to.

Not for practical purposes. There is an airstrip, but scheduled service is limited and unreliable enough that almost everyone flies via Bengaluru. So when people here book an airport taxi, they mean the run to Kempegowda International, roughly 193 km away.
How long does the run to Bengaluru airport take?
Three to four hours, and the variability is almost entirely at the Bengaluru end. The stretch out of Mysore is fast; the last 40 km around the city and up to the airport is what decides whether you arrive relaxed or not.
What time do we need to leave for a morning flight?
